YAKIMA, WA – October 13, 2025 – Kwik Lok, the global leader in bag closing solutions, will demonstrate cutting-edge digital traceability solutions for the fresh produce industry as part of the prestigious Supply Chain of the Future Initiative by IFPA at The Global Produce & Floral Show in Anaheim, California, October 16–18, 2025. Attendees are invited to visit booths TA5 or 3012 to witness demonstrations that promise to redefine food safety and consumer transparency.

Live Demo: Traceability from Lot to Item

As a central component of the Supply Chain of the Future Initiative, Kwik Lok is partnering with industry leaders IFPA, GS1 US, ProQure, Tive, and North Bay Produce to unveil a powerful, real-world traceability demonstration. The demo, featuring North Bay Produce apples, illustrates a critical advancement in the supply chain: extending lot-level traceability down to the individual item level using Kwik Lok’s technology.

Key Highlights of the Live Demonstration:

  1. In-Situ Digital Identity: The demo showcases the Kwik Lok 915G in-situ closure label printing solution closing and labeling a bag of apples in real-time with a lot-specific GS1 2D barcode. This process gives each individual bag a unique, data-rich digital identity.
  1. Consumer Experience (CX): The digital identity is powered by the GS1 Digital Link standard and surfaces information through a Progressive Web App (CX Platform) developed by ProQure. Consumers can simply scan the label to access content such as brand stories, nutritional details, and farm of origin.
  1. Enhanced Transparency & Food Safety: The platform is further enhanced by Tive’s shipment and cold chain data, providing a complete map of the product journey. Most importantly, this system enables lot-specific food safety notifications—allowing retailers to prevent scans or clearly communicate product safety information to consumers at home if a safety change occurs post sale.

This capability is a game-changer, enabling the entire supply chain to deliver a smarter, safer, and more connected experience for everyone, unlocking possibilities like in-store wayfinding and co-marketing and loyalty integrations.

“Kwik Lok is incredibly appreciative of our partners and the industry leaders who are spearheading this initiative. The work being done through the Supply Chain of the Future Initiative is driving real, positive change; advancing transparency, efficiency, and collaboration across the entire industry.” commented Chris Latta, New Business Development Director at Kwik Lok.
