865 Automatic Bag Closing Machine
The 865 is a fully automatic bag closing machine that can perform two critical packaging functions: The machine will CLOSE your bagged packages and when equipped with an optional printer, it will PRINT price, freshness dating. Printers will print information on the all-plastic closure where it is easy for the consumer to see and read information. Bag printers are often forced to overprint bag graphics, making it difficult to locate. The 865 will also apply custom printed closure-labels.

The 865’s design is one of unrivaled simplicity and functionality; capable of delivering years of dependable operation. The simplicity of design delivers a lower initial cost, low maintenance costs, very low crippled package rate, low maintenance, and low spare parts inventories.
The 865 is capable of closing a wide range of vertical and horizontal package sizes and will adapt to most automatic baggers. The unit will close all common plastic film bags, net bags and even paper bags.

Typical vertical applications include: Potatoes, Apples, Citrus, Ice, Candy and many hand feed applications.

Typical horizontal applications include: Pita bread, tortillas, meat packages, paper plates, etc.

The 865 uses a wide variety of closure sizes for closing film, net and paper bags. Closures are available in seven plastic colors.

PRINT YOUR OWN LABELS WITH KWIK LOK'S 884 THERMAL PRINTER
The 884 Thermal Printer is designed to preprint labels prior to application to the bagged product.

The printer will print most common bar codes along with text copy.

The print head is constructed of ceramic material with a project head-life of more than 2 million labels. The printer can print at speeds of 192, 384 or 640 labels per minute.

After printing the labels they can be recoiled and run in the 865 Automatic Bag Closing Machine. Recoilers are sold separately.

We can print one side; You print the other side
Labels can be preprinted on the front with your customized graphics. You can preprint in any number of colors, 4-color process or spot colors.

The back is then printed by the 884 Thermal Printer in your plant with package variables such as bar codes, varieties, weights, grades, etc.

When the labels are applied to the bagged package the custom printed side will face outwards towards the consumer, with the 884 printed copy on the back (facing the package).

OTHER 865 MODELS
865A MODEL B: The Model B has an extended feed belt attachment that extends 9 inches past the front of the machine. The Model B is required on some baggers where the Model A cannot be mounted (i.e. FMC/Agri-Tech Apple Baggers)
865A MODEL C: The Model C has a bridge structure connecting the drive and idle belt side of the machine. The design allows the exit end of the machine to be completely open and unobstructed. The Model C is designed for use for light packages (small bags, candies, nuts, etc.) or have large bag necks (milk bag-in-a-box). The model is also used for products that are contained and cannot drop down (bottle-in-a-bag)
865A MODEL D: The Model D combines design elements of the Model B and Model C, having an extended feed belt and a bridge structure.

FLOW DIRECTION - VERTICALLY MOUNTED 865 MACHINES
To determine the correct flow direction, visualize standing behind the 865 closing machine with the product moving towards you.

If the closure reel is on your right, the flow direction is RIGHT HAND.

If the closure reel is on your left, the flow direction is LEFT HAND.

865A MODEL C MOUNTED HORIZONTALLY
The horizontally mounted 865A Model C can be used in low-to-medium speed (up to 50 bags/minute) bagging operations such as Pita Bread, Tortillas, Meat Packages, Paper Plates, Disposable Diapers, etc.

The system is ideal for large horizontal packages requiring Kwik Lok's Series "Z" style bag closures.

To mount the 865 horizontally, the following kits are needed:

Z8065134 Kit - Closer Mount - Horizontal Package
Z8065107R/L* Kit - Guards - Horizontal Package
*Order Right or Left Hand

FLOW DIAGRAM - HORIZONTALLY MOUNTED 865 MACHINES
To determine the correct flow direction, visualize your packages moving away from you, towards the Kwik Lok Closing System.

If the open end of the bag is on your right hand - the flow direction is RIGHT HAND.
If the open end of the bag is on your left hand - the flow direction is LEFT HAND.

865 STANDS FOR VERTICAL PACKAGES
867 Model A Clamp Stand: The stand is primarily used for hand fed operations where the 865 is above an existing conveyor. The 865 remains at a fixed height when the brackets have been set.
